Be a trusted provider of oral appliances

We need your help

Demand is more than supply. There are aren’t enough dental sleep professionals to fill the growing demand for OAT.

The tides are changing

We have a supply vs demand problem.  There are X millions of undiagnosed OSA patients in North America; X millions of diagnosed, untreated, and of those X million of patients treated with CPAP, up to 50% of them discontinue therapy within the first year.

Until now, only 6% of OSA patients have chosen or been given the option of and access to Oral Appliance Therapy.  That’s changing.

Prior to the Philips PAP recall of 2020, SomnoMed launched our Medical Initiative – a commitment to increasing awareness, acceptance, and adoption of Oral Appliance Therapy in the MEDICAL community. We’ve restructured our North American business to include a team of dedicated field-based Business Development Representatives who focus on MEDICAL education, with separate Account Management and Customer Service teams to provide support to our direct customers… sleep dentists.

In the course of this restructure, Philips recalled millions of PAP devices, leaving an ongoing chronic shortage of patient access to PAP therapy. While the CPAP tides had already begun to turn, with growing awareness and acceptance of the limitations of PAP therapy related to compliance, the PAP recall hastened the need to consider non-PAP therapies to treat their OSA patients. And with the rapid acceleration of access to Home Sleep Testing technologies and services, along with wide-spread adoption of Telemedicine, undiagnosed patients are finding much easier pathways to OSA treatment than the required in-lab sleep studies of yesterday.
