Sleep apnoea self-test

Test your sleep apnoea risk

Does your breathing pause at different intervals throughout the night?

The Epworth Sleepiness Scale quickly tells you if there may be a risk of having sleep apnoea.

Test your sleep apnoea risk

This self-test does not replace a medical diagnosis, but will help to indicate whether or not you may be suffering from sleep apnoea. If your test result indicates that you are suffering from excessive daytime sleepiness you should seek further advice from your GP. The answers you give are not stored and are for your own personal information only, but it may be useful to report your score to your GP

The ESS tries to establish how likely are you to doze off or fall asleep in the following situations, rather than just feeling tired. The questions refer to the likelihood of you falling asleep during your normal way of life, so even if you haven’t done some of these things recently, try to answer how these situations would generally affect you.

Please note: The sleep apnoea test does not replace the medical diagnosis, but only shows the probability of the presence of sleep apnoea and is for your information only.

In order to achieve the most accurate result possible, we ask you to fill out the questionnaire as precisely as possible. Of course, your data will be treated confidentially and not published. Participation is completely anonymous.
